Who we are

First Christian Church has ministered to an in the city of Arlington for 125 years! We are a congregation that finds its life in forming Christ-centered relationships. We are affiliated with the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), The Christian Church in the Southwest, and the Trinity Brazos Area. We are in a covenantal relationship with each as we enhance the respective ministries of one another. We work with our denominational affiliates to minister more effectively to those who are in need in our area and around the world. Outside of our denomination, we partner with Arlington Life Shelter, Mission Arlington, and Arlington Charities to meet the needs of people right here in Arlington. We also foster relationships with Arlington Clergy and Police Partnership (ACAPP), Arlington Ministries Association, and the Attending Clergy Association to serve our police and community in creative ways.

First Christian is a place where relationships are built. We want to truly get to know one another through fellowship, worship and service. We believe in a weekly open communion table in which we remember the Lord’s Supper and welcome each person to participate as they are comfortable. We practice a believer’s baptism, which means we baptize people once they have accepted Christ in their own time. While we have this practice, we do recognize other forms of baptism. What unites each of us is that we confess that Jesus is the Christ, Son of the living God and have taken him to be our Savior.
