New Here?

Welcome! We are so glad that you have found us online and hope that you will get to know us in person and allow us to get to know you.

What to Expect in Worship at First Christian Church

When you first get here, you can find guest parking next to the building, on the right. Our main doors are at the end of the first walkway come to when driving in. This will have you enter by the sanctuary.

We have two worship services on Sunday morning. In our 8:30 service we sing mostly traditional hymns out of the Chalice Hymnal (the red book in the pews). At the 10:45 service we sing both out of the hymnals and contemporary music out of the Chalice Praise (purple) and the Worship Songs (green) books.

At both services you will be welcomed by greeters who can help you find your way around the building and get you a bulletin. We ask that you fill out the guest cards in the pew backs so we can be in contact with you we promise not to harass you with calls and mailings).

In the red register book at the aisles, there are prayer cards you may fill out that are taken up during one of the first songs of the service; it is our honor to pray with and for you.

During the service you are invited to participate as fully as you are comfortable. We have a weekly open communion table and we invite you to remember the Lord's Supper with us.

Children in Worship

Children are welcome to stay in worship with their family, but we also have a nursery available for children from birth through age 3 (we ask that you leave diapers for your child, if necessary). When you drop them off, you will be given a pager so our nursery staff can easily reach you if there are any problems.

During the 10:45 service we include a children's sermon where all children are invited to the steps for a special message just for them. After this children age 4 through 2nd grade are invited to Godly Play, where they will experience and learn a Bible story and enjoy fellowship time. We have worship bags outside the sanctuary for any child staying in worship. If you need help finding them, just ask a greeter!

What to Wear

At both worship services, we have people who wear suits and others who wear jeans. We invite you to come worship as you are comfortable!

We hope to see you on Sunday!
